Preface (not part of Terms of Use):
When starting up a business, lawyers suggest every web site should have a terms of use and a privacy policy. As a creator, I would like many people to take advantage of this web site an share it widely; and I've made many of the images available under a Creative Commons license (see each page for details). In short, don't claim our content as your own or sell it without purchasing a license.
So, don't be intimidated by what follows, but it helps us all understand what's OK and what's not.
Terms of Use
Last Modified: June 28, 2022
Acceptance of the Terms of Use
These terms of use are entered into by and between the customer (“You” or “Your”) and Teaching and Learning Labs LLC (“Company”, “We”, “Us” or “Our”). The following terms and conditions, together with any documents they expressly incorporate by reference (collectively, these “Terms of Use”), govern Your access to and use of teachingandlearninglabs.com (the “Site”), including, without limitation (hereafter “including”), any content, functionality and services offered on or through teachingandlearninglabs.com (collectively, the “Service”), whether as a guest or a registered user.
Please read the Terms of Use carefully before You start to use the Service. By using the Service and intending to be legally bound hereby, You accept and agree to be bound and abide by these Terms of Use and Our Privacy Policy, found at Privacy Policy, incorporated herein by reference. If You do not want to agree to these Terms of Use or the Privacy Policy, You must not access or use the Service.
The Service is offered and available to users who are 13 years of age or older.[*]We have not intentionally placed objectionable materials on these pages; but there are links to many other sites that are out of our control, so follow those with caution. It's always wise to supervise your children when visiting any web site (including ours) - and Federal restriction limit what's possible on web sites intended for children. By accessing or using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years old, or any higher minimum age in the jurisdiction where you reside. If you are under 13 years old, you must obtain permission from a parent or guardian to use the Services. Parents or guardians are responsible for all activity of minors on the Services.
Changes to the Terms of Use
We grant You a personal, limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access and use the Site. We may revise and update these Terms of Use from time to time in Our sole discretion. All changes are effective immediately when We post them and apply to all access to and use of the Service thereafter. However, any changes to the dispute resolution provisions set forth in Governing Law and Jurisdiction will not apply to any disputes for which the parties have actual notice prior to the date the change is posted on the Service.
Your continued use of the Service following the posting of revised Terms of Use means that You accept and agree to the changes. You are expected to check this page frequently so You are aware of any changes, as they are binding on You.
Accessing the Service and Account Security
We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the Service, and any service or material We provide on the Service, in Our sole discretion without notice. We will not be liable if, for any reason, all or any part of the Service is unavailable at any time or for any period. From time to time, We may restrict access to some parts of the Service, or the entire Service, to users, including registered users.
You are responsible for:
- Making all arrangements necessary for You to have access to the Service; and
- Ensuring that all persons who access the Service through Your internet connection are aware of these Terms of Use and comply with them.
To access the Service or some of the resources it offers, You may be asked to provide certain registration details or other information.[*]We do not have registration now, but may in the future. You agree that all information You provide to register with the Service or otherwise, including, but not limited to, the use of any interactive features on the Service, is governed by Our Privacy Policy, and You consent to all actions We take caution with respect to Your information, consistent with Our Privacy Policy.
If You choose, or are provided with, a user name, password, or any other piece of information as part of Our security procedures, You must treat such information as confidential, and You must not disclose it to any other person or entity.[*]We only have accounts for those working at TALLabs, but may add user accounts in the future. Your account is personal to You, and You must not provide any other person with access to the Service or portions of it using Your user name, password, or other security information. You must notify Us immediately of any unauthorized access to or use of Your user name or password or any other breach of security. You must also ensure that You exit from Your account at the end of each session. You will use particular caution when accessing Your account from a public or shared computer so that others are not able to view or record Your password or other personal information.
We have the right to disable any user name, password, or other identifier, whether chosen by You or provided by Us, at any time in Our sole discretion for any or no reason, including if, in Our opinion, You have violated any provision of these Terms of Use.
